Zero Contact Delivery

What to expect when your delivery driver arrives with your order.

The health and safety of our customers and drivers is our priority, which is why we have a ‘zero contact’ delivery process.

Note: You must be home to receive your prescription delivery.

Prescription orders cannot be left unattended.


The driver will place your order on a safe surface in front of your door.

The driver will then ring your doorbell.

The driver will then move back to a safe distance (1.5m ‐ 2m away) and confirm your full name.

FAQs

Can I get my medicines home deliveried?

Medicine delivery requires Better Value Pharmacy to have a copy of your prescription. The easiest way is to leave your prescriptions on file at the Pharmacy. Alternatively, your doctor can email or fax an image of your prescription to the Pharmacy or the Pharmacist may be able to give you some regular medications without needing a script from your doctor. Contact Better Value Pharmacy for more details.

How can I leave my prescription with the Pharmacy?

The easiest way to have a prescription filled is to leave your prescriptions with Better Value Pharmacy is when you are in the pharmacy. Then, when you are running low on medications simply telephone the pharmacy. We can then organise payment and delivery over the telephone.

If your prescriptions are not on file at Better Value Pharmacy , your doctor can email or fax a copy of your prescription to the pharmacy for supply and delivery to you. Any repeat prescriptions will be left at the pharmacy.

How do I get my prescription to the Pharmacy if I am staying home?

Your Doctor can send through an image of your prescription to Better Value Pharmacy via email or fax. Under the temporary COVID-19 Government regulation, the pharmacist can dispense your medication from this image.

Regulations in place mean we can only accept an image of the prescription when it is sent from the prescriber (doctor) directly to the pharmacy, and not from the customer.

You will then need to telephone the pharmacy to request the prescription be filled, provide payment details with a valid credit card, and organise pick up or delivery.

Who qualifies for free home medicine delivery ?*

To reduce potential exposure to COVID-19, vulnerable people and people in self isolation will be able to order their PBS and RPBS prescriptions and have their medicines home delivered for free.

The Australian Government criteria for vulnerable people or people in self-isolation are:

  • People isolating at home on the advice of a medical practitioner, in accordance with home isolation guidelines issued by the Australian Health Protection Principle Committee for confirmed COVID-19 cases, OR
  • People who meet the current national triage protocol for suspected COVID-19 infection after consultation with either the national COVID-19 hotline, state COVID-19 hotlines, a registered nursing practitioner or COVID-19 trained health clinic triage staff, OR
  • People who are aged over 70 years, OR
  • People who are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person aged over 50 years, OR
  • People who have a chronic health condition or are immunocompromised; Or
  • People who are a parent of a new baby or are pregnant.

To be eligible for free home delivery once per month eligible customers will need to

  • Hold a valid Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Card AND
  • Order at least one PBS or RPBS medicine requiring a prescription, AND
  • Have not received a Government funded delivery in the same calendar month from any pharmacy.

Delivery Times & Fees

Delivery requests made before 12pm will be delivered by 6pm on the same day. Other delivery services are available for delivery requests made after 12pm.

An average delivery fee of $10 applies. Delivery fees may vary depending on the time.
